Here's a beyond f*cked up crossover idea for you - Neon Genesis Rayearth. Misato is of course Umi at an older age...Asuka is the daughter of poor Hikaru...and Ritsuko is actually an older, wiser Fuu - that part's especially scary when you consider that Asuka borrows a VERY familiar-looking green skirt and jacket from Ritsuko on her date with Lantis/Kaji. Evas, Mashins, Angels...I'll let you play with things from there.
Just got back from Shrek - GOOD flick. Must see. Yeah, there's some gross jokes in it for the kiddies, but there's also some hysterically funny references in it - try not to blink during the Princess Fiona Kicks @$$ sequence - I haven't laughed that hard since Blue Man Group Did The News, and never before then. DEFINITELY worth full price.
Race riots breaking out...in England? Apparently, at the height of election campaigns, the government put a ban on political marches in the area. Three weeks ago, one far-right-wing group with known anti-immigrant sentiments decided to snub the ban and march anyways, and Saturday a group of around 500 Asians got into a major riot with police. Sunday, more clashes involved another 30-40 people. They are apparently victims of anti-immigrant crimes themselves, one unknown Asian man said "We are retaliating, trying to put a stop to it. No more, I mean, you've got to defend your own doorstep, your own house. When you've got people knocking on your door and dragging your family out and beating them up, you've got to put a stop to it and this is it." Interesting. Fae, any reaction/thoughts out your way?
One solution to the CA power crisis - get your own solar power system. And it goes into a little more detail as to just what could happen. The biggest clincher for the state is the risk of 15 billion dollars in economic impact, and 15,000 jobs lost from companies closing or moving.
"Coming to you from twenty-two THOUSAND miles in the sky, it's Satellite Radio!" New service for satellite based radio stations - offering over 100 stations each, some with no commercials, are two different companies with all satellites in orbit Right now they're taking in orders for the service, and it seems pretty cool. What's next - Radio Free Luna? (hmm, that sounds cool - a future blog concept?)
Bird, no more glasses are good. I wish I could get the surgery...ah, I COULD, it's just expensive. Will later. XD So you're a Fuu clone too hmm? My friend Dawn was one...same big round glasses, same hair color/style, same voice...Dawn was more bubblyperky than Fuu was, but she could have done that cosplay in a heartbeat. Shame she never did...
Okay, I'm off for a nappie. I'll be back in a couple *V:SIhours, if anyone wants to chat. ^_^

This is a blog run. There are many news stories below. Why do I mention that? I am tired.
Hey, Ragabash - Captain Cajun got a website! XD
Pam, sounds like you're having fun, and you had a good field trip. Kick Chris(topher)'s butt, and I hope you enjoyed the lightning - I'm JEALOUS!
Tay, I don't see you complaining about the Gregory! Peck! concept. Wassamatta, chicken? XD And yes it's pink. But this is a FUN pink. Not a gouge-your-eyes-out-with-a-spoon pink. Poor thing! At least you'll have something to read. *points to big huge Bizarre News post below*
Bird, most welcome. ^_^ And I think it's time for you to get your sleep now.
I dunno what SHE'D have to say, Amy, but I say yes, you are.
Sam...umm, damn. The concept of Bird with a Rayearth Mashin-type sword...is most kowai. And it's okay, I think I can hear in my right ear, a little bit. XD Great, sugar shock, sleepless shock, and then the HK layout. I must time these things better. I am glad you weren't on a licorice high during the Tomoyo test.
The "Postal Hello Kitty" - I LOVE it, Fae. That's priceless. And it's so me. ^_^ hee hee.

I guess now we see who the guilty parties are. After the cease-fire offer from the Israelis, Hamas, Fatah, and Islamic Jihand all set off car bombs that injured well over 60 people and killed at least 5, including the bombers themselves. A fourth bombing at a nightclub in Jerusalem will add more to the toll, and has not yet been officially claimed. I take that as a willingness not to accept the cease fire...so what happens now? It's sad, but not surprising - there will be no peace until the false one comes.
Don't you mean...Oh my God! You killed Pochacco! You bastard! XDDDD and that was my idea. :p
The Japan Report...
Well, while the Americans sure don't like Pearl Harbor, it seems that it won't bother the Japanese much. Of course, this movie - despite all of its claims for historical accuracy - has as much fiction in it as does the Japanese history of WWII. Sequences of the fighter aircraft literally flying bare inches off of the ground, a group of Zekes chasing a sedan at all of 40mph across the base, and many more minor inaccuracies make me want to change my mind about seeing my beloved warbirds on the silver screen. If you want to see a GOOD movie about Pearl, and about the Pacific War...there's really only one to see. Go get "Tora Tora Tora".
Speaking of textbooks, S. Korea is still quite bitter over the whole affair and the visit of Japanese PM Koizumi to the Yasukuni shrine, honoring Japan's war dead.
And now, the bizarre:
The late Senator Carnahan, who was reelected after dying and whose wife now has his seat, had his headstone stolen last month. It has since been returned.
Lone highschool lesbian voted Prom King up in Ferndale. She voted for herself as prom king as a joke - and, apparently, so did everyone else. The students are pretty laid back about it, though others in town are not pleased. Just goes to show - THINK when you vote. Or it may come back and bite you.
Ah, look, subtle variations on the Y2K bug. Specifically, only using 2 digits to count age for applications for fishing licenses. And when 100 year old Ted Welander (attaboy, Ted! keep kickin!) went to get his, it kicked him out. He was quickly processed by hand.
Bank robbery note found in laundry - come on, guys, it's called disposing of evidence. At least they weren't trying to launder the money.
Apparently, someone can't stand losing. And so they stole the Tic-Tac-Toe playing chickens.
Draculaland, anyone? It seems the Romanians are very big on their rather dark historical characters...but then again, what else is there beyond farms? Kinda interesting to see how much the legend provides.
Monkey man rampages across New Delhi, attacking people and being a general menace. 4/5 of the supposed attacks are fake, however there's been 3 deaths and over 60 injured by the beast, and reports do describe the same creature. The police are investigating heavily.
All in the name of art...2500 Montreal residents bare all in downtown. The photo shoot took approximately an hour, while the subjects were quite unclothed in the chilly weather the entire time.
Luckiest man in the world? British man successfully calls the outcome of the top 5 English and top 3 Scottish soccer leagues before the season started - rather like picking the AFC, NFC, and MLB world champions without any games played! He won a half-million pounds ($750K) from a mere 30-pence bet - just 50 cents. What's so remarkable is that he made a massive windfall in 1999 after predicting the outcome of another major game.

Microsoft gets its head far enough out of its @$$ to see light - and calls a program to have resellers "snitch" on people who buy PCs without Windows "stupid" and denies that any information was given to the police. Apparently, MS thought that it controlled the PC market as well and had resellers in the US report anyone who bought a PC system but did not want a Windows license. Apparently Microsoft doesn't believe there are any such things as alternate OSes, or maybe replacement computers for the same copy of Windows. Then again, with all the hardware monitoring with Win XP and the "new computer effect" (replacing enough internal parts will make Win XP force a reregistry as a new license), perhaps they really DO.
Give me the Penguin any day.
AMD and Transmeta officially team up to release new 64 bit chip using technology from both companies. Apparently the "Hammer" chips will be able to "morph 32 bit code to 64 bit" and run its older programs faster than the new Itanium, which comes out Tuesday. Of major note are the 128 and 256 bit chips that are due out soon, possibly next year.
MS Hyperterminal susceptible to certain session files and HTML codes could give unauthorized users access to your computer. Yawn. It's Microsoft, we know that. But who uses Hyperterminal anymore, past checking to see if your computer can carrier det and dial?
Zeruel, was that on the south side of town? I went to Hell Cajon Valley...well, for 2 years, then I went and homeschooled. You know they put a movie theater at Parkway Plaza - big 2 story affair?
Ragabash, I REALLY like the "Gunslinger" layout. (Don't ask, I just called it that when I first saw it) I'll bring it to work and decide, flip through some song lyrics or read some books to come up with something. Or else steal a good line off of the Things Gun Owners Should Know. It'll wait a while though, the response to Make My Day Hello Kitty is quite good.
Thank you Katherine, XD Ragabash did the layouts again, but this was special. ^_^ And got fasttracked since you were all screaming for pink, and I was NOT gonna put That Other Layout back up. :P
We haven't yet, Hikaru, but I think that oversight can be corrected. Nice layout, I like the dashed lines everywhere. Heh ^_^
Thanks sp4f - how do you pronounce that? Spaf? Spfourf? XD From what I read on Megatokyo, Thief 3 will do fine.
Network Solutions/Verisign gets pissy about the debate over the domain name registry and kills the list that handled it. Not only did they kill the list, but seconds after the "This list will be closed immediately" message went out, the archives - five years worth of policy, data, q&a, and information - were wiped out completely. Apparently, since they were just given the newest extension on the monopoly...who needs to bother catering to the little people?
Firefly, N&M, Gen-chan, MAFBlad, and the other .blogspot.com pages are...kaput. or not posted yet. What can you do...?
Meia...I won't ask about the satanic jelly. XD Worship the Evil Pinkness.
Rachael, cool. I'll have to go watch those now.
Meril, yes, Ragabash does do them. It may have been threatened, but at least it's over and done with. XD But I like the new one, hee. Actually before I was considering a serious (i.e. non-coma-inducing) Tomoyo layout before, but it never went anywhere. The X:59 effect is damn annoying, and poor Captain Cajun has been hit with it 3 times in the 6 days I've seen him the last 2 weeks...*laughing* He doesn't do the Hermione thing...he sits there and makes you read EEEEEEVERYTHING. And verifies info. Again. And again. And again. He gets a nice amount of overtime for it too.
N&M's back!

Rachel, glad you like - you were EASILY the first to hit this new layout. XD I haven't seen Sudden Impact.
Hey. You all wanted a pink layout. Fine, you got a pink layout. :P
Pissed off that I left a big list of Things Gun Owners Should Know that was given to me by a boss at work. I'll have to put it up at Rebecca's place tomorrow.
Sam-kun, congrats on getting the classes ^^ tho I would prefer an hour or so between classes to organize, prepare, and do homework that's due for the next class. XD
Drop in a claim on it, Ragabash, that's all I can say...and kick the driver's @$$ for it next time. Wonder if he dropped it off and it was picked up off your front door.
Neon Exodus Evangelion....gooooooood. Missing the final angels, specifically the DNA Strand and the big orbital glowing one (I liked that one).
Zeruel, D00D! What part of El Cajon? I lived just off Pepper Drive, on Plumeria.
A quick burst off the Bunny AK-47...well. For an Insert Plug Into Socket concept, D.N.Angelic Layer? Conversely... D.N.Angel Sanctuary? Saiyuki-chan In Wonderland? Card Captor Sakura Taisen I've not yet seen mentioned, oddly enough...even if Tomoyo COULD be Sakura in S.T. :p
*goes completely deaf from Sam's reaction to the new layout*
Testing?
Testing?

*clears ears* Medication DOES make you happy.
Too late, Carolyn! Muahahahahahhaha!
Kristi, pardon my poultry attempt at humor, but it did was a funny story. "Hen" na no, ne? XD
Bird, can you get ICQ? I'm have MSN messenger now. Reply to e-mails when hotmail will let you back in - and get a yahoo account for a backup, I have one. I'll be awake real early tomorrow, but will bug out for work around 10am. I will check e-mail afterwards though.

Happosai^2: a bunch of Evangelion music videos on a friend's page, with the Mother video down at the bottom. This is the big-@$$ version, at 46mb. Broadbanders, enjoy.
Yeah, this was the video I did. The long one has the (full, silly) credits on it, which you can pretty much skip. You really ought to know The Wall and Evangelion pretty well to understand everything about this video - or else some of the deeper stuff will fall through. And I was there when they showed the Asuka/Engel video - THAT was damn awesome, and damn funny. Oh well, go see my contribution to fun.
Prozac King, here's the Escaflowne synopses to catch you up on the eps you missed: Ep 15 and Ep 16. Check the notes for more info on the episode, so you're not COMPLETELY lost.
Tay, they're giving me heck for taking it down. See Sam's blog.
And Monday, Memorial Day, a bunch of us at work are going out to have some SERIOUS fun with lots of firearms. XD Nothing like a good old fun shoot, ne?

Ragabash, here's the orange one, and the gunslinger pic. I'll keep looking for more. I have the orange one actually cleanly cropped out somewhere, with the bottom edge of the image "repaired". If you think you can do something with it, let me know.
*twitch* Fine. You want pink? Then you shall have it! I have to get the html again and images from Ragabash, once I do, oh yes...there will be pink.
From a fun little article in a computer mag that The Other Republican on Cellblock D loaned me:
WINDOWS TIPS FOR MORONS:
Let's get one thing straight from the get-go. I despise you. You're low-end-user scum, and on a personal level, you just plain make me sick. But seeing as how I'm slumming it in the Tech Support Pool this month, I'll toss you a few tips that might prove helpful as you bumble your way through Windows 98.
(many basic computer tips and tricks later)
OK, I'm done with you. Now run off yo your precious little cigarette break and never talk to me ever again.
Perusing the latest Popular Science, and there's a fun little article in there about the Army's SUV - a very modified Ford F-350 Super Duty. In addition to the usual heavy armor, this little wonder-ride comes with:Fingerprint-scanner locks: don't match the print? Near-lethal electric shock ought to keep the pesky car thieves away. Pepper spray over all the doors to keep crowds back. Voice activated windows, radios, and cellphones for hands-free operation. Infrared laser to heat and explode land mines - joystick controlled for hands-on operation. Turret mounted nightvision optics for when lights are too obvious. MAJOR headlights, placed to blind people in front, for when they're not. Spikes, caltrops, and oil-slicks to get rid of pursuit. A computer system inside with GPS, laser controls, nightvision, etc.
I want a laptop, dammit.
Note to anyone else out there - NEVER, EVER, EVER call technical support at X:58 or X:59 - you will get the poor sod (like Captain Cajun) who is about to leave. And you _will_ pay for it.

Raar. WHY did I have to go check blogs.
At least SOMEONE likes the Icchan layout. (go look through the archives for 4.23.2K1 to see why it's there). *glares at everyone else*
Fae, that was the point ^_^ Like I said on Ragabash's blog...it was a little mental and visual atomic bomb that Eggplant whipped up for me. Sadly, it didn't quite have the desired effect. *points to even more raving fangirls and fanboys screaming for the Return of the Pink* Suntan lotion, like I said. Trust me - I do NOT do the ruffles & lace thing.
Sam-kun, not QUITE like I intended it to be. ~_~ *glares* quit using my love of democracy against me.
Kristi, hey, it was funny. And I agree - it IS something that deserves to be picced. ^_^

I would assume it's rather pointless to mention that you have problems too...
HAH! El Cajon shooting victim sues school for negligence in allowing the shooter to bring guns to school.
FIRST: the school did not allow him to bring firearms to school. He was not given a permission slip, and it's very highly illegal to have firearms within 1000' of a school. SECOND: if this were to go through, then what's to stop people from suing police for being negligent and not stopping this sooner? Or stopping any other kind of crime?
Y'know, that's it. I was born August 8th, 1998, and I was born just past the California state line, on the I-15 freeway at Mile Marker 1. My 3rd birthday is a few months away - I'll throw an online party or something.

Thank you to Dora-san, Carolyn, and Katherine-san. Functioned as intended.
The rest of you crazy people frighten me deeply.
NnM, Firefly, Gen-chan, and probably others are having some sort of f*cked up router problems in the northwest.
Cheer! John Ashcroft can read the constitution and recognizes the fact that there really IS a 2nd amendment.
Kristina, I'm reminded of the old D&D story...the necromancer running around with a skeletal chicken named Gregory. Everyone wondered what the entire point of such a useless (though different) dead familiar (which he would feed, by the way, much to the amusement of the other players)...until the dear little Necromancer ordered his pet chicken into battle with the now-infamous words...Gregory! Peck!
Kristi, that last one was for you too, since you need a joke. And eh, it was fun. ^_^ It's still worth a cheap laugh and deserves to be MSTed harshly. (the reviewer's not joking, and the truth is his second theory - broken up over time due to funding) Good luck on your AX final!
Sam-kun is Washuu!!! "I'm cute, not quite all there but a damn genius as well!! So HA!!
*^^*;;;" Congrats on turning things around. ^_~ And Sam, you're by far NOT the only one who thinks it's pretty - see above.
Reins, cute layout! ^_^
Crabcakers...Kimmie, what do you play in orchestra? *waves back* The layout section is the Make Custom Changes link, there you directly edit the HTML. Azuki, why not make a Hershey's Kiss clique for Gravitation? Or maybe you'd call it a Himhe's kiss. ^_~ Jen, you'll get along with Sakura-san juuuuust fine. ^_^

Heheh. La Jolla sucks because I didn't get to live there, and it IS beautiful. Got to do an odd little job up there a long time back, hee hee. ^_^ Hmmmmmmmmm...I think that's the one, because there WAS a Japanese language school and also a Japanese-style cultural-immersion school, K-8 (equivalent) IIRC. Or maybe not, but I didn't know of any others up there. The girl at Yaohan I talked to about it said that there were a few Japanese families that had their kids in that school. *laughing* I knew there were a few shark attacks in the area, but I know you're kidding about the arms and legs thing :p And yes, there were MANY bitchy people up there - I had to work for one of them. ^_^ Shelly was...special. We happened to find something extraordinarily weird - in Old Town, one of the guest registers had her name in it - written in very similar handwriting. This was signed a hundred years ago and was one of the ones sealed away, I might add. We were afraid to ask her...
Yay I can see Ragabash's page now. ^_^

Kristi, the plan is for this weekend, getting together with anime club people. ^_^ The heat's not so bad. It's the humidity that's a killer...especially with the con in Long Beach. But I think you'll like AX. The Payne trial was the thing with the gun being stolen? Yes, that Space Ghost. ^_^
Carolyn, I just got the note "BeautifulDeepEnd wants to send you a message". And I'm like, What?! Another fangirl!? XDDD
Gillian, considering all the "It's A Girl Thing" topics that have been posting these last few days...NO. :P
Meril updates! ^_^ Very nice, very nice ^_^
Sam, you grew up in North County?! DAMN! I'm sorry. HEY! I think I know which school you went to! They advertised a LOT for one of those immersion schools back at what used to be Yaohan, at the Asahiya bookstore in Kearney Mesa. Ever been there? When did you leave SD, by the way?
Hey, Crabcakers! if you're really nice, Sam-kun is offering to scan a few pics from her Gravitation artbook for you. ^_^
Bird, come back soon! We do hope you feel better...at least e-mail us and tell us what's going on. The bar misses its favorite (and only) waitress...^_~

Ragabash, I can't get to your page - there's a blown router somewhere at or just past sl-teleglobe-5-0.sprintlink.net (160.81.103.30). Alan can get to it. He did post a copy of your blog for me - Do it! Do it! I'll help you carry stuff out to the car, you DO have a lot of books. XD
*update* and NnM & Firefly keep bouncing between border-sf-s8-0-0.sirius.com (205.134.254.37) to bdr1.sntccaidc.firstworld.net (205.134.254.38) and then back again, in a loop. Very weird, what's up in the northwest?

Woohoo Alan, glad to hear you're feeling better. ^_^
Huh. Firefly and N&Ms both hitting Page Not Found...
Rumika, that's pretty damn harsh for a failure to yield...how long is your suspension, and what'd you do, cut off an ambulance and cop car or something?
Gen-chan's getting Cannot Find Server...MAFBlad too.
Tay, I haven't read Cat Who Walks Through Walls in a while - I didn't like much of Heinlein's later stuff...wanted Sci-Fi, not romance novels. (Time Enough For Love - the first 90 pages were more lurid than a Turtledove novel) Stranger In A Strange Land was GOOD though. And I know who you're talking about on the CFFML...
Kristina, there's ALWAYS a Whose Line Is It Anyway marathon, every monday from 8pm-10pm. XD
Sam-kun, whoah! *L* I grew up in El Cajon, out in East County. ^^; Yeah I know...it'd be nice if we could just telepathically DUMP knowledge on people, quickly and happily...humanity should be telepathic. Raar. Yeah, please ask - maybe it's got something to do with a wicked galactic magnetic field that's locally disrupted...but that'd pull towards the center of the galaxy, not back towards Sol. Weird. The big question is, how far does the effect happen - will the Pioneer probes slow down and eventually fall back in-system? NASA's not saying specifics, but CNN keeps talking about it on the science segments, and it's a "significant deviation". ^_^ Go ask! And you ARE Candra. XD
TAKE CARE!!! We'll miss you!

Ariel Sharon calls for cease-fire in Israel following the Mitchell Report. If the Palestinians agree to the cease-fire, then they'll start implementing the other steps recommended in the Mitchell Report: Stopping Jewish settlement construction in the Palestinian areas, joint security operations, a denouncement of terrorism (this is very easy, Arafat did it the whole time), Palestinian police stopping the shootings and mortar attacks themselves, limiting use of Israeli military force, and further negotiations to resolve the core issues. It's questionable whether or not this will be able to be put into effect...but the future's often a surprise.
Japan may have found a possible cure for Alzheimers - A team of Japanese scientists at Keio University in Tokyo determined that a protein they call humanin can actually stop the destruction of brain cells that occurrs in Alzheimer's patients. And, unlike other treatments to do the same thing, this does not seem to cause cancer of any type. This is interesting - could it be used, not just for alzheimer's patients...but in other cases, to keep a brain from dying? Combined with certain other genetic treatments, could this be the beginnings of an immortality drug?
Bringing back memories of much darker days, Afghani Taliban issues order to all Hindus that they must wear identity labels to differentiate themselves from Muslims, and are on a campaign to crack down on "un-Islamic" portions of society. Anyone remember little yellow Stars of David? And yes, they did finish blowing up all the old Buddha statues, even those last two big ones. And they're doing it just like it was done before - slowly, carefully, one step at a time. Where'll it stop?
WWII memorial passes House and Senate and is now waiting for President Bush's signature. There's still some opposition to the memorial, that it's too gaudy or "celebratory" compared to the Vietnam memorial.

This is extraordinarily bizarre. Some sort of super-gravitational force is actually slowing down the space probes Pioneer 10 and Pioneer 11. Some time back they noticed that Pioneer 10 wasn't going as fast as it should be, and initially wrote it off as a random gravity effect from something dark nearby, but now Pioneer 11 has been seen doing the same thing - on the opposite side of the sun. And the force acts in the same direction, in the same magnitude - towards the sun. It's not solar gravity, it can't be - the space probes are too far away to be affected this strongly by the sun, and while they were in the solar system this slowdown wasn't affecting them - only now that they're outside. Is there some sort of supermassive material out there, scattered throughout the edges of the solar system, well before the Oort cloud? Or is it some sort of weird physics quirk that hasn't been explained? Either way...how far does this effect go? Would it cause a problem with future colonization effects?
Harry Potter - the video game anyone?
*LMAO* The guy who kills the bull in the ring is NOT A TOREADOR!
Sam-kun, COOL Gackt-skin. ^_^ Ne, can I add on sanity-shortage too? My ko-oni down there has been getting a lot of sh*t because she's Chinese...and with all the BS China's been pulling, stupid people pick her out as causing the trouble. I wish we could live in a world where people could THINK. And I was born in Spam Diego so I'll blow it up if I want to. Or at least take it over.

Ragabash - *CHEER* I'd personally LOVE to see California declare war on Texas. XD I think I might have a thin contact to Air Force bases in North Dakota (specifically, the big concrete-domed golf courses) and maybe we can deal with them. XD Oh, wait, now I'm making a joke about dropping a nuclear weapon on California and all the Scientologists there. Am I going to jail just like this guy is going to? XD Heh. See previous commentary regarding the gas situation - and it was Reliant that Gray Davis was pointing at. Wonder if Dubya's gonna work out a quiet deal with Cheney, resign, then secede happily and quietly. THAT I'd pay to see. Umm, Sunday works for me ^_^ I'll prolly be a bit tired, so I'll raid the popcorn desk. And Jim pays for himself :p Ah hell, it's got Eddie Murphy in it, it can't be all bad. Yes, I'm doing the HK layout. Leave it with the number it's currently assigned, BTW. Shame we can't do an HK layout.
Greg Proops is alive and well on Ganymede!!! XDDDDD

Vaporized the TV. Well, not quite, but there was a lot more of it scattered on the ground than there was in (what was left of) the frame. XD I love my shotguns. Hee.
Towel Day! Specifically, May 25, 2001 is the day that is going to be used by Douglas Adams fans everywhere to mourn his passing and celebrate his life by carrying a towel around for the whole day. No hiding it either. Mine's going to be cheerfully embroidered with the yellow smiley-faced thing, and the number 42. Hitchhikers Unite!
And, Fae-san, I say Tolstoy should do CCS. THAT would be interesting. And Brak rules - the Raymond episode was hysterical.
Alright, Greg, I'll go see Shrek. Hell, if it's that funny...how can I miss it? Ragabash, my treat this time?
Elwen, you MIGHT be lucky - the city of LA has a separate power grid and isn't connected to the rest of the state. So they won't get hit with blackouts - but I don't know HOW MUCH of the city that actually covers. So you might or might not be lucky. Oh, and what Gray Davis is whining about the power companies charging 1900 dollars a megawatt - that's because the power companies he's buying the power from have to use 30, 40, and 50 year old powerplants that are under certain environmental regulations. Specifically, they can't be used for more than 8 or 9 days a year or else they suffer major fines. Which is why the price is so high for power - because the government DEMANDS they produce the power, DEMANDS they pay the government all the money in fines for producing the power, then DEMANDS they be given cheap discount rates. Might I add...that the California government, which has "stepped in" and "taken care of the problem"...has not paid any of the out-of-state generators it is stealing electricity from, by fiat? One of Davis's personal villains right now is a power company in TX - the one he claims is gouging consumers because of the high charges. Y'know what? He's taken 374 million dollars of electricity from them, and not paid ONE PENNY for it yet. Said it before, and I'll say it again. Fuckin commie.
Puppy, I'm more the gun freak, tho we're both big supporters of the right. ^^ And there's one more thing to mention - it's a very small loophole in the gun show thing. 95% of all sellers at the gun shows are dealers - who have to fill out the forms anyways. And it's not illegal for private citizens to do the background check themselves, either, and many of them do. And records of the sale are kept ANYWAYS.
*snickers* More strange search requests - "Sirius Suppressor" (actually, I think it's called a dog muzzle)..."pictures of drunk people" (why, I don't know and won't ask)..."miko touchscreen" (O. K. A. Y.)

Well, it seems the cops in Britain have hit on the idea of SMS-spamming cellphones...they're now sending the message "This device is pinched. Purchase or sale is an offence - the police" every 3 minutes to stolen cellphones. XD So how long until someone gets a cell directory, and sets up the same thing against the police?
AmIElectableOrNot.com's voting so far for the fictional characters puts Yoda himself in a major lead for Prime Minister. Filling in the cabinet is an interesting bunch - Lord Chancellor the Dalek Emperor, Minister of Environment Doctor Who (Third base!), Minister of Education and Employment Moff Tarkin. And they've imported the Foreign Secretary - James Kirk, anyone?
Search Reference - "pregnancy and target shooting". It can be done, I guess...

Here's the article about the IBM hard drive breakthrough. The new magnetics allow for a much higher data density, 100 billion bits/square inch versus the 20-40 that is maximum with the units we have now. In addition to the 400GB desktops, they're also talking about 200GB notebook computers and 6GB handhelds/palms.
Ragabash lives! But blogger sucks. XD Cute. Eriol pic? *L* cool. Use whichever characters you want for the chalk outlines, I'm not terribly picky.
Chii-chan gets a hard drive shortly. Taking everything over to Computer Renaissance and dropping it off...gonna need a CD-ROM too, demmit. At least those are really cheap. Argh. Ah ewll, tis all the fun! Should have it back Saturday. Then it's off to get DSL a few weeks later...once that's up, Pam & Gen-chan get crispycrunchy.net back. Apologies that it's taking so long...
I'm off to go blow up my old TV. Taking the Ultimate Badass out, plus Spike and mom's Glock. Seeya'll later!

Archived. Yay?
In a fine case of what should be terminal stupidity, Keith Henson convicted of interfering with the Church of $cientology and very nearly convicted of charges of terrorism and attempted terrorism. For posting a joke on Usenet about launching a nuclear missile on the Co$. That's right, a trained, sworn California prosecutor put a man on charges of TERRORISM for making a joke. Apparently, during the trial there were "serious irregularities of procedure favoring the prosecution and excluding the bulk of Henson's evidence" - a set-up job perhaps? It smells as such, on May 13 Henson posted to the usenet forums that there was immense political pressure coming down to put him in jail. For making a JOKE. What's so beautiful about the whole affair is that he has fled to Canada and is applying for political asylum - because his parent country is trying to jail him for free speech. Yes, that's right, America, land of the free, home of liberty...is trying to put this man in jail for making a simple, obvious JOKE. Good god, what an irony. But the Co$ is a major power in California, I will say - one wonders just how much of the judicial system is staffed by Co$ people? They're everywhere else, there's a LOT of big names that are Co$ in Hollywood - Tom Cruise and John Travolta, for example. What, you thought Travolta did that part in Battlefield Earth because he thought it was such a wonderful script? (well..maybe so)
Yo, gang, Computer Surplus Outlet is having a big sale on memory and CPUs this weekend - go check it out!
Alan-kun...ph33r my mind.
Gang knife fight here in Vegas, 1 dead, 3 wounded...stabbing at an apartment complex - man arrives home and finds a homeless man in his home...then 2 homeless men get into a fight, 1 set the other on fire and killed him - over a bottle of whiskey.
*tries to rub out the "Suppiholio" concept*
Crayola, what was wrong with computer? ^^; Damn, 3 boxes of pocky?! you're still sane?
Gillian, I'm reminded of a mutual friend of mine & Ragabash's...Obi-Wan Fanboy had a ferret named Orion. He went to a party once...found some babe there, started talking to her...little while later, he said "Hey. Would you like to see my ferret?" Before she can react, he unzips his pants...and pulls Orion the ferret out. The poor girl died in a fit of giggles...
Have fun, Pam. ^_^
Gen-chan, Ragabash's been busy. ^_^ And sleeping muchly. Motherperson has gone away so the Eggplant's probably sleeeping it off.
Space Ghost Coast To Coast - GOD I love this show. ^_^ I want marathons, dammit!
Quite addictive, Sam. Quite so. ^_~ What's Spartacus?
More airstrikes in Israel, this time aiming at a factory believed to be where the shells for the recent mortar attacks are coming from. The Arab League has pretty much shunned Israel, but Egypt is backing Israel under a 1979 peace treaty.
And from CNN TV news...IBM developed some new magnetic coating for hard drives that increases storage by a factor of four. They're calling it "pixie dust" for now, and expect 400gb hard drives in 2 years. Moore's law gets truly broken on this one - with a tighter inside curve. According to Moore, we'd be pushing the 150gb mark by that point - so it has fallen. Woo, I just like the idea of 400gb of storage.
