Did you squiffle your Dr. Pepper today?

4.2.2K1 - 23.55

Ragabash: Hey I've done ENOUGH dirty thinking, now. Besides, you're supposed to be the evil one. And I dare you to toss me. *holds hand below shoulder level* Nyah. :P Chii plushie - would this be cool to build from?

The sun exploded! Biggest flare in 12 years, 2nd biggest since Skylab came down. This one's huge. Fortunately, this one blew off away from us, the large blast off to the side. That pic has the sun blocked out, here's one from the X-ray spectrum - flare area is off to the right side. Good site to view solar data on: SOHO: NASA's SOlar & Heliospheric Observatory

4.2.2K1 - 21.57

Ragabash, I was going to comment on the...logo pic but I felt it would be *thinks* incorrect coming from me. < ^^;;; >

MAFBlad, hee. ^_^ Chibi-Oz-chan! *cackle* ah, it's okay, been there, done that, got the t-shirt. I've heard that before.

woohoo! Vons has a special on, 4 6-packs of Dr. Pepper for 4 bucks! < ^____^ >

It occurrs to me that the paternal unit from hell has gone and done something rather rash. Dora, I'm in AIM, message me.

Katherine - look for THE SCOTSMAN (no known artist), it's about 2:26. Damn funny.

Vroom! Draw anything you like. The more general pics you can get (front, back, sides, all 3/4 views, top, bottom, and any details) the better it'll turn out. Must spend week sketching Chii pics, Ragabash please again let me borrow Chobits.

Put it back up, Panda. Or else. And go on AIM!

Dammit, I wanna be Tenchi's dad when I grow up. He's just got the best friggin job in the world.

Alan, we'll come up with something sooner or later. Too many projects... < @_@ >

Now this is a Wicked Spiffy(TM) effect. I go to Ragabash's page, checkbox the View In New Window, then close it, and all my links open in new windows! Cool!

NnM-chan, hee hee. I can see why you call it the "joint" blogger. *puff puff* < ^_~ > I know very little about ZZ Top actually ^^ other than they have long beards.

4.2.2K1 - 18.14

*yaaaaawwwwnnnnnstretch* *sings* cause wakin' up is hard to doooo~! XD

oh my god. *LOL* this is too crazy. Grr, I have to add links.

Sakura, there's nothing wrong with having your own fasion sense. You are not a lemming, therefore why should you dress like everyone else? Be different. ^_^ *this said by the guy who wears black Battle Dress Uniform pants to work in a technical support call center every day* XD Hmm, you can borrow my stuff, but you have to come to Vegas for a bit of training first. Oo...hope you get your signature, and good luck on the finals...

Katherine, I told you it'd be fine! < ^_^ > Now go enjoy your hard earned wages. I want that MP3 for the chipmunk voices!

Carolyn, Chii! XD Umm, I might be able to build up the plushies for you. I need many many pics tho from all sides. Ooh, getting jiggy with it are we? *snicker* And congratulations. ^_^ You don't have to be perfect, just crazy. ^_~

*LMAO* oh my god, Megazone 23 references in The Simpsons!!!!! *LMAO*

You are interesting, NnM. Kinda like Bobcat Goldthwait on Dr. Pepper and some good crack. Now what is a Velcro Fly?

Want insanity? click here!

4.2.2K1 - 9.21

Ragabash, your page is dead again.

4.2.2K1 - 9.17

WHERE ARE OUR PEOPLE? This isn't good, why are the Chinese dicking around with the Americans? It's been 33 hours since the plane landed and the ChiComs are refusing to let them talk to anyone or tell anyone where they are. They're seriously fucking this up, but for what reason? Do they think that Bush will be another Clinton and just do anything they want? Can they be that arrogant & stupid? Revoke MFN status, I say, if China wants to pull all kinds of shit with the US, including all the human-rights stuff that's never STOPPED happening, why are we prostituting our market for them? In 1999 the trade deficit, according to US Customs statistics (scroll down to the first table)was 68.67 billion dollars. Thats's 5 3/4 billion dollars a month cash that they make - not in total amounts, that's the NET after all the imports they make. I say threaten to close the market unless they a) Recognize Taiwan, b) return the Americans, c) increase the standard of living in a country where only four out of every hundred people own a TELEPHONE. Go do something GOOD with all that money.

Or if ya'll don't like it, go throw a revolution. Damn near happened in '89, so why not try again?

4.2.2K1 - 0.47

Ragabash, HLJ said it was a specialty kit for a convention, and that they can't get it. BUT! we have other possibilities. I will see what I can do. Red wine, grey carpet - not good.

Carolyn, PLEASE keep describing the lights for me ^_^ I'll keep you appraised on any major events forecast. Ooh, I can do embroidery on the plushies if you need! < ^_^ > Yes, tis true, for all my gripe about those strange humans, I actually am one of them and not an alien in orbit from Planet Zeb. Sorry to disappoint you, there won't be an invasion next week. Just a guy, yup, that's me, righty-o. No invasion. Honest. Hah, Blogger doesn't like you. And that search entry is...so wrong.

Hmm. A custom-made Chii plushie. Must be done.

Alan, interesting. Is this a start to the story we discussed earlier?

*dies because a friend just bought the PG Wing Zero Custom...waah* < ;_; >

Kris, I thought so. Damn. Where can I go to read more stuff about the storyline?

Toss your cookies! Toss your cookies! XD Viva, Las Vegas! *does the disco thing*

*apologizes for destroying Ragabash's mind with that mental concept*

Okay, I'm off to go stare at the lights in the sky. Then to bed. Oyasumi!

4.1.2K1 - 19.42

For some reason, I have this strange idea to get mind-bendingly drunk to celebrate my two-year anniversary here in Vegas. April 1, 1999, I moved here...it's been a short two years.

4.1.2K1 - 19.09

Carolyn, sadly I am not the all-knowing all-powerful Frank(tm) I wish I were, and now I feel bad you hurt that much. Um...oh, someone probably using a pink shade on their lips, looked in the mirror and it hit them like an axe between the eyes, probably. Plip?

Eh, I thought you did, Raggy. Sorry. Blame it on the PS2. And I'm going to go hit Great Wall Toozdae morning.

4.1.2K1 - 16.34

Meg, that's probably why I was going massively twitchy every time Kero just said something in a quiet moment, I kept hearing Skuld or Arimi or Devil Hunter Yohko. *shudder*

Sakura, it's just like a layout on a miniature scale...

Firefly, the Miaka eating her way thru Tokyo-3 is...ugh. No. Make it stop. I have this mental image of Asuka completely kicking her @$$ because she's so annoying...interesting thought for Wizard of Oz - after all, it came out in 1939, and I'm DAMN sure that reels or copies of it found their way to american servicemen over there, because it was a new movie when the war started. That has some credence to that theory...interesting idea to go research it. And congratulations! Sirius/Lupin...doggy style?

My vaccuum died. Alas, poor Oreck, I knew you well.

You're welcome, NnM. < ^_^ > On your Tacoma comment...signs you've been living in Las Vegas too long:

You get hot water...from both taps.
You put on jackets when it drops below 75.
You look to the sky and pray for rain, not for you but for your 7-year-old daughter, because you've already seen it in your lifetime.

4.1.2K1 - 14.42

Now this is morbid. I run a search for chobits because I'm THAT bored. And what do I run across?

4.1.2K1 - 14.32

Hmm. Anime Crossover From Hell:

Digi-Charat-Mon

4.1.2K1 - 13.54

Microsoft buys The Register!

haihai, just forgot what you said it was. < ^.^; >

Hmm, from that Manga saves Japan article..

...there are 15 comic books sold per year for each one of its 125 million population.
That's a DAMN lot of manga. Something to be said for the phonebooks, yes?
He noted that Japanese manga, with its ability to deal with every theme imaginable from sweet fairy tales to Armageddon-like stories of destruction, had the enviable advantage of having little competition in the world able to stand against it.
VERY true. And, the Japanese seem to have an immense creativity, and manga/anime are the easiest and most effective ways to bring it across - because there's no need to create costumes, build sets, transport a massive set crew, or any of a thousand other things that movies & TV require. And, if you're lucky, good, and smart, you'll win a big name for yourself in the business - didn't CLAMP start as a doujinshi group?

As for introducing anime here in the US...slot Maison Ikkoku into prime-time TV, and see what happens.

Sakura...? You okay?

NOW HOLD IT! Earlier you said it happend 6 miles away, within ChiCom airspace, now it's 60 miles - which is right? Don't give me that bullshit that the propellor-driven, airliner sized EP-3 appeared out of nowhere and decided to ram a ChiCom supersonic fighter aircraft that didn't see it coming. And the EP3 was so damaged it had to land within China - I might point out that there's an even dozen of these birds, and they're JAM-PACKED with all kinds of electronic gear. Hmm, if you had the chance, would you trade one of your fighter aircraft for the chance to capture & study the electronic eyes of your neighbors, and see how good they really are? See how long it takes the plane to be returned, if at all.

Final Fantasy Movie trailer! And Knowles says this is from some sort of new secret source - HAH! look at the address!

Okay, guys, it's safe to watch Card Captor Sakura. Come out from the shadows.

4.1.2K1 - 11.29

After a heavy helicopter attack into Force 17's bases in Ramallah this week, Israelis arrest 6 more members of the unit. These are Arafat's personal bodyguards, and Ariel Sharon is on record as publicly naming him a terrorist leader. Look for a move against Arafat soon, I'd wager.

4.1.2K1 - 11.19

Ragabash, Kerberos' seiyuu was Hisakawa Aya - Skuld, Annapuma (Dominion 93), Becky Farrar (GSC), Mano Yohko, Arimi (MB), Taata, Sailor Mercury...shudder.

4.1.2K1 - 10.07

This is interesting, after checking my hit logs I find out the Russians are watching. Wonder if it's because I linked Pravda.

You told me to remind you. And which domain did you get again?

*drooling* and...it's an action figure...*blibble*

Ooh. Things in California may be worse because Gray Davis won't tell you the truth. Four BILLION dollars of your tax money has been used just to buy power - and it's expected to go up. Right now, it's 50 million a day from tax money that should be going to other things. Now, here's the question: Why won't Gray Davis tell you what he did? And why aren't people protesting the actions of his government? Are the Californians truly nothing more than human sheep now?

4.1.2K1 - 6.42

No April Fool's joke...US Navy plane lands in China after collision with Chinese fighter - and at the moment, they're still there. An interesting situation, and such a coincedence that this would happen while the Dalai Lama is in Taiwan, and Bush is meeting with the Taiwanese regarding extra defense allocations and the Aegis-cans I mentioned a while back - a subtle hostage ploy, perhaps? Strange that the Chinese would send up fighters to shadow a P3 so close, and then actually damage it enough to force it to land immediately - those are big, tough birds.

3.31.2K1 - 23.35

Carolyn: go to bed and make up for that hour! :p Ooh. Fishscribblemon. And I guess it's a Frog thing ^_^ That lipstick is just messed the hell up. I'm sorry. Oh, in honor of the time change... tick!

Draco/Neville - because Malfoy likes his little domination games. And, one wonders if Crabbe & Goyle are into ferrets.

NnM, how do you like the Vaio systems?

And, Ragabash, I am just coming up with ideas, is all. I leave the look to you. ^_^ I just whine in this outfit, you get to make it look good. Oyasumi!

3.31.2K1 - 22.59

And chalk up another one for the tourists, your dear beloved author nearly got run off the road again because 3 people can't look past the car in front of them and cut all the way across lanes.

3.31.2K1 - 22.59

Ragabash, set your clock ahead.

3.31.2K1 - 18.12

bang. ^_^ And it's a good gun, too, I do salute the producers for their choices for all firearms. Now to save up the eight thousand dollars for Faye's MP5K.

Just to hurt everyone with a truly horrid idea...Card Captor Sakura Diaries.

Carolyn, get a good pair of gloves. Helps muchly. Grandmothers are just tooooo damn cool aren't they? I kinda miss mine...

Alan, don't get me started on drunk people. We have a severe problem with fuckheads who show up in Vegas, don't know where they are or where they're going, but have to get to their slot machines RIGHT NOW and blaze through speed limits, red lights, and all kinds of things, as if this city was their own personal racetrack. Last night, rack another one up - someone ran a red, T-boned a limo, and killed the poor limo driver. I've nearly been run off the road (yes, in der Weiss Panzer!) and have seen things happen on the roads you wouldn't believe. There are no atheists in foxholes or on Las Vegas streets at night.

Panda, go for it ^_^ even layouts are creative artwork. I wanna see what your page looked like! ^_^

NnM, get well soon. ^_^ Drink about a half-gallon of OJ, that ought to do a number on your cold. ^^ At least you don't call it lungbutter. < X_X > Now, why you cryin?

That's all for tonite, off to anime club like thing to watch more cool stuff! Which we better have since I _DID_ post the link to that Chii kit. *glares at a certain short eggplant-like being* Ja!

3.31.2K1 - 17.21

Ragabash, did you/can you get it tonite? ^_^ And, if you want to do the pizza thing or any other foods, I have cash.

3.31.2K1 - 14.37

Yeah well. < ^_^ > It's a tribute to Spike, or else I _WOULD_ have bought the special edition one. But...I just can't see SHOOTING one of them, they're too pretty. All-stainless is about as pretty as I want 'em. And I would see your post about Harleys right as my boss fires his up outside, and sets off car alarms down the block. XD

how much.

3.31.2K1 - 13.51

LOOK OUT!!! Sun to explode today! XD actually it's a bad translation, but still funny as hell.

3.31.2K1 - 11.04

Ragabash, 7pm, don't forget Chobits manga. Or the anime. I DID post the info and requested HLJ to order the stuff...

3.31.2K1 - 9.38

As much as I like many aspects of Japanese society...I'm glad this is happening to the arrogant bastards. Go for it, S. Korea!

Yes, the acronym error is my own fault - my friend Ulises made it up (I think) and I thought he said oshiete. But He told me that years ago, and I just forgot my Japanese. Gomen! Yamite, oshiri ga itai it is, curse my bad Japanese. ^_^ And thanks to all for the corrections.

Hmm, a new reader! Lots of video game and fanfic stuff on yet another Katherine's page. < ~_~ > You are now Tomoyo! And scan the Athena pic, that sounds funny.

Sakura, just because someone says you have no talent doesn't mean you don't. Keep drawing all you like anyways, art classes aren't really all that worth it IMO.

Carolyn, if it's snowing, oh well...you'll miss it. Hell, we're getting the Aurora Borealis effect HERE IN LAS VEGAS. Let me go find the NASA sun photos so you can see the great storm in all its glory, I'll look for them at work.

Just don't blow up anything important, Alan.

NnM, you have straaaange dreams. You don't like Kamui much do you? *momentary mental image of Kamui/Yosemite Sam* Mah biscuits are burnin! Mah biscuits are burnin! *shudder*

Alexa, it may not be imaginative but it DOES work. ^^

DAAAA whoopsie! Dumb Laws, a cool site, but don't click on the HOME button or it'll 404 you!

3.31.2K1 - 1.03

Hmm, if anyone else wants that Chobits Chii kit then e-mail HLJ at products@hlj.com and tell 'em you want one too! Ragabash, I put through your request already.

3.31.2K1 - 0.36

Ragabash, post the IP of sickfuck's entry, I'll see if I can find you something sweet for events like that. And, depending on Chii availiblity, I want one, oh mighty Credit Card Bitch. XD

Meg...cats just...are. I can't say anything else really.

*LMAO* Katherine has Dr. Pfeffer for a teacher! XD

Carolyn, yes! But, those places don't have pretty light shows. If you're not going outside and enjoying the CME aurora for me tonight, I will be seriously annoyed. *plop*

Let me know if they get posted, Alan. I have to see this one more time, just so I can go over the edge.

PAM! Don't forget the http portion of the links! XDDDD

Ragabash, not so much destructive as lethal, Alan COULD create a Food Bomb.

Alan, not so much nails...but ball bearings. Nothing like walnuts in the brownies!

Um...NnM...I know the cool-event repeat is a neat anime trick, but it doesn't work so well as a blog. ^^;;;;;;

Catsy, oopsie. OSHIRI. ^^; well my friend Ulises told me, I got the O word mixed up ^^;

OW OW OW...damn. Note to self - do not de-static computer monitor with hand while touching backplate of computer frame with toe.

3.30.2K1 - 20.25

wheeeooooeeeet! Hmm, I can imagine. Would you believe that there's places in the world that don't snow at all during the year? XD Hey, it's amusing, the confused-panicky looks ^_^ tho the blue film 10 part is pretty hard to read.

Meg, woo! Another new layout! Nice, and I detect a faint similarity. < ^_~ > And what's a SatRis?

Alan: if you stop saying the y-word, it won't show up in your searches. And did you know yaoi is an acronym? YAmite! Oshiete ga Itai!

10:12 PM entry - OH. MY. GOD. I never thought I'd see Voltron: Hell Bent For Leather referenced - *child buried under rubble* "Help! Mommy, mommy, aarrgh, my spine!" *Voltron lion scoops up young child buried under rubble* "No, don't move me! AAAAAAHHH!" Adam Cheney and the rest of Seishun Shitemasu, wherever you are, we salute you.

NnM, you can't die till I get my Ein winamp skin. So there.

China is mad that the Dalai Lama is visiting Taiwan and is accusing him of dividing China.
...
*snicker*

Just a reminder of how good we have it...the Japanese news paper Asahi Shimbun was sued by the Japanese LDP government for Y10 million for alleged defamation. "The LDP said the newspaper reported the scandal hit mutual aid foundation KSD paid fees for fake LDP members."

Going back to a previous story regarding Pakistani nuclear weapons...oh shit.

Ya know...sometimes life sucks, then you die.

There's something to be said for a fine command of the English language.

< ~_^ > Ah, but I _do_ have a link. Here you go. Down at the bottom...it's a reprint(recast? rerun of production?) and there's no ref on HLJ for it yet. I'll e-mail Toys King about it, and see if they can do anything about shipping here. More pictures: front, back, above, and closeup.

3.30.2K1 - 18.54

ooh! a Chobits resin kit of Chii-chan!

3.30.2K1 - 17.45

Hey, Register guys! Fix your href link! < ~_@ >

3.30.2K1 - 17.18

Ooh! Someone new linked me! penpen.pitas.com is the link for today. ^_^ And I salute him for a disturbing Big Bird picture!

Super-secure web access? Or the 3W equivalent of a stealth bomber? "Netizens in notoriously authoritarian countries like China, Afghanistan and Britain, say, will be able to access whatever they please on the Web and leave no trace of their comings and goings." Hackers, too. Watch your back, boys and girls, and your server logs.

3.30.2K1 - 17.04

Life sucks. There is no chance I'm going to EITHER Anime Expo or Comic Con this year, all the vacation time for July is taken up. (it's being worked on)

NnM, if you like the PT-99 go watch ep 5 of Cowboy Bebop again. Look closely at the package Annie gives him. < ^_~ > And I hated getting up for school too - I just don't FUNCTION before 10am (note my early morning blogs...) Ah, just keep an eye out for me. ^_^

Katherine, the Bus Trip is one of the funniest damn things I've seen in anime, and is bested only by the infamous Blue Seed Omake Theater. "Hmm, which drawer is it hidden in? These two drawers are very well painted and seamlessly integrated into the cel artwork, while this third drawer is penned in with thick lines and has a simple paint pattern. This drawer must be the one that is meant to be animated and therefore must be the one the item is in!" *pulls drawer* XD Katherine, while you're in New York, go see the Empire State Building. Drag your parents to the observation deck, and pray that the little plexi dome on top is open - if you're not afraid of heights, go up in it. It's...unbelievable. Also, take the stairway up the inside of the Statue of Liberty, it's hella faster than the elevator (no line) and the inside of the Statue's well lit and kinda interesting to see just how MONSTROUSLY BIG this project was. And NEVER forget all that it stands for.

Dora...*LMAO* I take no responsibility, you can't blame EVERYTHING on insanity. I wonder how many people regret my beginning to blog now. XD

Carolyn, try Idaho! Or better yet, stay away from the "Great White North"...and I'm not talking about the snow. Cute layout! *L* Good points on your commentary re: homosexuality/homophobia. Too many people nowadays, in a rush to be "oppressed" or something, decide that if you don't back their view completely, you hate them and are vile scum. (I'm exaggerating, yes, but I make a point) You are who you are. And there's many shades of grey to be found in this world. Oh yeah! Boiiiiiingggg! < ^o^ >

3.30.2K1 - 10.35

Ragabash, can't find anything. Still looking. And Alaska has some problems with gangs, but it's a bit of a special case. Mostly, I mean to back up the statement said (by I forget who) a long time back, "An armed society is a polite society."

Katherine, should I get you one of those CAFFEINE BASED LIFEFORM bumper stickers?

Ruuuuubyyyyy, where are you?

It's not easy being green...

And, from Panda-girl, Satan on...

NnM, I'm availible from 10pm to 11am less a chunk for sleepies in the middle(I work 12:30pm-9pm), and earlier on the weekends. Mondays & Tuesdays I have off, and am almost always on, explaining why there's so much crap on my pages then(unless my muse takes a dump on my head during the workday). Cute & cuddly shotguns are fun. I will have more pics soon, I hope.

Off to work!

3.30.2K1 - 10.10

The 2001 Despair Calendar. I like.

3.30.2K1 - 9.07

Oh, this is gonna fly like a cement truck. Hailstorm agreement gives MS rights to all data sent over the network. From The Reg, which got it from the Terms Of Use:

"By posting messages, uploading files, inputting data, submitting any feedback or suggestions, or engaging in any other form of communication with or through the Passport Web Site ... you are granting Microsoft and its affiliated companies permission to:

    1. Use, modify, copy, distribute, transmit, publicly display, publicly perform, reproduce, publish, sublicense, create derivative works from, transfer, or sell any such communication.
    2. Sublicense to third parties the unrestricted right to exercise any of the foregoing rights granted with respect to the communication.
    3. Publish your name in connection with any such communication."

And it doesn't stop there. Are you emailing a contact about a hot idea or business plan of your own? Hand that over, too:

The foregoing grants shall include the right to exploit any proprietary rights in such communication, including but not limited to rights under copyright, trademark, service mark or patent laws under any relevant jurisdiction. No compensation will be paid with respect to Microsoft's use of the materials contained within such communication.

Catsy, sorry but FUCK MICROSOFT if this is going to be their practices. Anyone who reads the Terms of Use for Hailstorm is going to run like hell, because this gives MS rights to any business idea that goes through Hailstorm. I so hope, for MS' sake, that this is not a legit story, but The Register is a pretty solid & trustworthy group. Chii-chan is a Linux box now and forever.

3.30.2K1 - 8.58

And in the computer game industry...God the game? Looks interesting, and has some neat effects to it. I just have to wonder about the author's fascination with slapping his creature.

3.30.2K1 - 8.53

Bush isn't a Reagan-level orator...but at least he has a sense of humor about it.

3.30.2K1 - 8.33

Now this is disturbingly cute. And with the yen's exchange rate still dropping (past 125 and going), at 1K yen it's under 8 bucks.

3.29.2K1 - 23.42

Whee, crack smoking time! fatigue poisons good! sleep ba~ad.

Made famous for the well-loved sing along, "We represent the Pokemon Guild, the Pokemon Guild, the Pokemon Guild."

Ragabash, I did it. clock me.

The end of this post is umop apsidn. < v¯v >

3.29.2K1 - 21.02

Yvette, do it in style. Try the airsofts from Redwolf Airsoft, or go for something custom from DEN Trinity. Get licensed, scarily accurate replicas of all kinds of firearms, fully-automatic, shooting 6mm plastic bbs that leave a good sting. You can get near anything, for only 150-250 usually(more for the custom guns). Now you'll have something to chase your brother with, and have more firepower to boot! < ^__^ > And if we sniffed daisies, we'd be bored and not blogging. If we sniffed poppies, we'd be happy and not blogging. < *.* >

Fornit Some Fornus!

Squirt sucks.

Bill Gibson Alert, this time from the current top page of Popular Mechanics.

Apply the wait-20-years-principle to it and we'll see just what people are plugging themselves into NOW. ThoughtBlog, anyone?

Carolyn, Christians aren't the only ones that actively promote their religions. There are the immortally beloved Jehova's Witnesses, not to mention the Mormons. I agree though that Harry Potter isn't supposed to be religious or anything. It's fantasy. Non-reality. Fun. Nothing more. And it's getting quite good too. Hmm. Oh yes - last minute casting change for the Harry Potter movie, just got announced. H. Ross Perot as Professor Flitwick.

3.29.2K1 - 20.11

*posts just in time for the big traffic*

Hm. Why isn't there a .us for an American national webpage thing? Like, .uk for the Brits, or .jp for Japan?

six second, legitimate, call. DAMN.

Moore's law broken? Desktop sized supercomputer that's THREE ORDERS of maginitude more powerful than a standard CPU, because the chip in this one can reconfigure itself. A thousand times per second or more. And with the new video displays that use electric ink (think of a thin, flexible sheet of clear plastic) and postulate - a pair of eyeglasses, with these clear screens for lenses, and there's a small speaker unit over one ear. Next to this speaker is a little unit the size of a pharmacy bottlecap that holds the processor and a little mini harddrive. Anyone remember Skuld's glasses from the 4th OAV?

NnM, that list is scary. "Anything goes with Play-Doh." Who's thinking of the old Jello jingle? < X_X > And shotgun-wise, it's a matter of style. Huge monster shotgun, relatively basic but shoots anything and is quite compact, or a handful of pistol-sized cute cuddlyness.

Catsy-kun, sorry, but I'm a bubblegum terrorist. And a creative one. As for Ragabash's site, well, s/he writes WAY too much. I've seen its directories, the archives have actually hit 100K files there, pure text. And the server reports are...inaccurate at best.

The Anime Crossover From Hell...is spreading. And, Panda, it's...so right, but so wrong, yes? *grins*

Katherine, Jet & Spike tied neck and neck, hmm? < ^_~ >

Dora-chan, I have this bizarre as hell mental image of Quatre as Squee. Wrong.

Hmm. In this race by the shipping companies (FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc) to get it there fastes, the old DHL flying truck commercial gives me...an Idea. BOFH THE BOOK! Brought to you by Plan Nine, same publisher for the Sluggy Freelance series.

War-driving the latest fad? Get a good wireless connection & LAN card, plug into a laptop, drive by an airport, and hack away. Visions of Bill Gibson perhaps? Not to mention the terrible FUN you could have if you could eat the departures/arrivals screens and display things like ALL YOUR FLIGHT ARE BELONG TO US or some such. Ah, technology. Did I not say that if humans think we can do it, we will?

3.29.2K1 - 9.49

Damn, that WAS a big post.

Meg, wabbit season? *stocks up*

Dora: hmm, would that imood supposed to be comfortably numb? And as for Hemingway, yeah, I'd agree with that. *L*

As for the gun rights rant, I forgot to post links for my sources (it sucks rewriting, you forget what you did and didn't do) so here we go. Vermont statistics and Washington DC statistics. And, the 2-million figure was from a study, admittedly back in 1993, here is an article and interviewwith Dr. Kleck regarding the study. Yes, that many seems high at first glance, and it IS based on extrapolation. HOWEVER - the interview does point out the following.

The latest year for which I have any data, 1991, would be about 9 percent of the population had suffered a personal crime -- that's a crime with personal contact. And so, to say that 1 percent of the population had defended themselves with a handgun is obviously still well within what you would expect based on the share of the population that had suffered a personal crime of some kind. Plus a number of these defensive uses were against burglars, which isn't considered a personal crime according to the National Crime Survey.
Also, consider - if someone tries to rob you, you draw down on them, and they bolt, you've just defended yourself, AND the perp is gone. I personally wonder how many unreported incidents there are that ended without anything happening, where the mere presence of a firearm ended the attack peacefully.

New guns in the collection! *points to the right*

NnM, we have no life therefore we blog. Shotgun? Which one? We have the Remington racegun with 9-shell extended magazine, barrel port, adjustable choke, compensator, pistol grip, and lucite front sight. We have the Badass, a compact little Maverick Bullpup 12 gauge rigged for night fighting with a 5 round magazine, twin pistol grips, heat shield, flash suppressor, and tactical flashlight with pressure switch. Then there's Stomp, a 10-inch barreled Mossberg NFA firearm with a 3-round magazine, sidesaddle shell carrier for 6 more rounds, H&K MP5K forward grip, and flash suppressor. And, not yet availible, is the 12 gauge "grenade launcher" built into the Pulse Rifle with a 2-round magazine and a overbarrel-mounted Thompson carbine.

I am SUCH a gunbunny. < ^___^ >

3.29.2K1 - 0.35

Hmm. Okay, after losing 5K worth of blog today because of disk failure...a vain attempt at a rewrite. *unhappy frank* And as big as this is getting, this is it for us until tomorrow, probably.

First item in the news: Human Cloning. Okay, yes it's a science, pardon the pun, in its infancy. With many errors, and risks. In 1905, so was flight. Many died, many more were injured & maimed in the first flight tests. In 1925, we were pushing hard against the transatlantic barrier, though it would last another 2 years. In 1945, jets had been introduced to the world, and the sound barrier feared its breaking. In 1965 humans flew faster than the world in orbit and had eyes and hearts locked on the moon. In 1985 millions worldwide flew anywhere, anywhen. In just a lifetime - 80 years - we went from dreaming about flight to taking it for granted, and availible personally to the masses.

Cloning WILL happen. Genetic manipulation WILL become mainstream. Not tomorrow, not next year, but within my lifetime, and yours too most likely. Humans by nature are intensely curious and stubborn, and will keep trying and trying something, until we make it work. It's our greatest strength. The only question now that it has been done, is what we will do with it. Will your grandchildren grow up in a Blade-Runneresque world afraid of bioengineered life and taking safeguards like the tragically doomed Roy Batty? Or will they grow up in a genetic facism a la GATTACA, where the bioengineered rule and the naturals are 2nd class citizens? We need to spend more time looking at legal situations, and have things prepared for when the first tank-born arrive, or else we may end up repeating many past mistakes.

I still write such utter shit. < ~_~ >

Second topic: gun control. Told you they'd push for more! Hmm.

"Brady ... said much more should be done to restrict access to guns by criminals and children."
Okay. Did you know it's ALREADY illegal for anyone who has committed ANY felony, no matter what, no matter when, to own a firearm?
He criticized Congress for recently reaching bipartisan consensus and then failing to pass a bill that would require child safety locks to be sold with every handgun purchased and require buyers at gun shows to undergo a background check.
Said background check bill died because the democrats wanted a maximum 72 hour timeframe to return a background check, while the Republicans pushed for a 24 hour max turnaround. If the 72 hour one had gone through, you would have waited up to 3 days to take posession of the firearm you ALREADY PAID FOR. If you didn't get a return until after the gun show, you would have to have the firearm shipped to an FFL near you, and then redo the background check AGAIN for this FFL, with attendant fee.
"The occasion won't be altogether sad because the shooting ultimately led us to dedicate our lives to strengthening our nation's gun laws and making our country safe from gun violence," Brady said.
Safe from gun violence. Okay, Jimmy, let's just see how SAFE you mean.

Sarah Brady, wife of the afore-mentioned James Brady and gun-hating fanatic, has rated our states on their firearms laws. The entire state of Vermont scored an F, because it has no state & local laws regarding firearms at all. Carrying concealed weapons of any kind is legal, as long as you do not intend to break the law with them(i.e. homicide, robbery, etc). There is also a law in the state constitution preventing the enacting of any anti-gun ordinance within the entire state. Washington DC, on the other hand, scored an A. In the Seat of Democracy, you cannot buy, sell, or transfer any handgun you owned before 1976. If you own a gun, of any kind, it must be stored disassembled. To carry a pistol IN YOUR HOME you must apply for a license. (note, you cannot take it outside) Any semiautomatic firearm capable of holding a detachable magazine that can store 12 rounds or more is illegal - note, this is ANY firearm with a detachable magazine. Handgun OR long gun. You may not borrow, loan, give, or rent anyone else's firearms. Okay. All these laws scored an A on Sarah's little chart. Here's the numbers for 1997:

Vermont: 55 deaths by firearm. 41 of these, 75%, are suicides. 9 incidents, for 16%, are homicides.
In Washington, DC, home of the free, there were a total of 220 killed by firearms. Of these, 13 - just 6% are suicides. 202 gun deaths, a whopping 92%, are homicides.
A very...interesting thing to consider. As a national standard, there were 17,424 suicides and 12,102 homicides - a near 3/2 ratio. Remember that.

ALSO remember that it's been well documented, which I will post up links to later, that firearms have been used by law-abiding citizens to stop nearly two million crimes, from assault to robbery to murder. The only people who will be and are affected by these laws are you and me - the regular, law abiding, good citizen. The criminal knows how to get his firearms without background checks, and can get anything he likes. Think on that.

IT HAS A CORE FIGHTER?! NOOOO!!!! It's not supposed to be there dammit! It's a linear seat! Not a friggin CORE FIGHTER! *smells a serious rework coming* grr...fuck with MY gundam, will you? We shall see about that!

Ragabash: we'll see what we can do. Once the cable modem is up and running, I'll give it some serious speed tests. *whumpthumpcrash* iyaaaaaa...my web server just took a dump. I can't get back on now. This could suck...wait, here we go. *reconnects* Bad omen. Must get cable modem with static IP. In the meantime, everyone else, Ragabash a) won't post much and b) may close VH for a time. Don't Panic! It'll be back.

Bye Meg!

Sakura: I like the green! And the little SD icons are too cute. ^_^ Very green, but the background is nice - it breaks it up so it's not hard on the eyes. 4 bullets from me! ^_^

Carolyn: Sirius/Minerva - going at it like cats & dogs! And, splorsh!

Hmm, I mentioned the Larry Potter/Harry Potter debate a while back, saw it on 60 minutes or summat. And I say Harry was there first. Here's evidence of a scam:

In the late 1980s, Stouffer says the books were selling so well and licensing agreements were flooding in at such a rate that she projected annual earnings of an astonishing $1 billion. She says that during one 2 1/2-week period her company received orders for $6.5 million, which could have made publishing history. However, even with these orders in hand her company fell apart, she says. She has no records of these gigantic sales because the studio at her home collapsed during a snowstorm in 1996, explains Kevin Casey, a Philadelphia lawyer who is representing her.
GEE. She was the darling of the book industry and made millions, and HAD the records to prove it but golly, they all vanished. Oh and since then we all had some form of collective amnesia till JKR came along. RIIIIIGHT. And Alan, in Goblet of Fire, the HP series grew a serious plot real damn fast. I can't wait for 5.

Does this mean I have to now, since mine's the day after? Oh well, I told her to do it. < ^_^; >

NnM, I dunno but that's the kinda place I'd like to be. Dancing girl or no. And an Ein skin would rule! AIM me if you ever like, oh mighty OZ. < ^_^ > Dr Pepper Squiffers. It could work.

Rumika: EEWWW! That's NAASTY! Be nice to Subaru. And I'm sure you'll get your rolling head.

Alexa-san, I liked Meiko too! She was the most adult & levelheaded of them all, IMO. And you're right, not EVERYONE can just hop flights, unless one of the parental units worked for FedEx and hops cargo jets free. But that's reading too far into it. I still say the Americans mostly came off as assholes, except for Mathieson...

Okay...I've spent the last 105 minutes BLOGGING...time to post. Chii? *nudge nudge* < u_u > *zzz* okay, do it myself. Oyasumi all, take care and happy reading! ^_^

3.28.2K1 - 19.59

*hums* In the not too distant future... Hmm. Anime Crossover from hell: Gizmonic Princess - Tiara & Lena fight over TV's Kagetsu who has imprisoned Joel in the Throne of Yord. Interspersed with truly horrible anime dubs.

Another bad thought. Heero the Homicidal Maniac, by Shounen Vasquez.

Or...Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. "Hey, baby."

3.28.2K1 - 19.22

Just wait till someone cries first amendment on this bill. It's not DIRECTLY blocking advertising, but it's seriously pushing the line. I say kill it in committee, and close that road NOW.

Moore's law is being pushed...1.7ghz chips coming "very soon", and the 2ghz line to be broken in 3rd quarter (3Q) 2K1.

Woohoo! 29 second LEGIT call! *does the happy techie dance*

Ragabash, Blogger ate your archives. Again.

Ah, Microsoft. With Windows Disgust, MS has come up with something new and amusing:

The storekeeper and his little elves then get to decide what drivers and updates are good for you, and they set them up so they install invisibly, without your even being bothered by them (although this presumably will have a lot to do with where the defaults are set in the shipping code).

This still won't play in the business world, where IT managers still won't be wanting their users installing (or having installed on them, without them knowing) stuff they haven't approved and decided to roll out themselves.

Gee. We learned that one the hard way. Fuck not with user's computers. Especially if you want to KEEP said users. Then again, laptop or not, I'm running Chii-chan on Mandrake/Window Maker. Or enlightenment.

3.28.2K1 - 18.28

P.S. Ragabash, come on up. I have magazines. < ^_^ >

3.28.2K1 - 18.23

I can get high off my hands...
...this is cool.

Damn. Every other week, right at noon, there's an ambulance & fire engine right next to the Applebee's near work. I wonder...

The bumper stickers went over quite well. I also find on my desk a little bottle of green candy labeled "COMPUTER ANTI-VIRUS PILLS". This is great. I'm afraid to taste them though - I don't entirely trust Ragabash. Who, I might add, has a rather nifty pic of an F/A-18 just completing a cat shot. Great photo.

Picked up an interesting magazine, called Giant Robot. It has a freaky article about asian serial killers. Here's the top ten out of 25:

    10: Charles Sobhraj, 20+
    9: Phoolan Devi, 22
8: Peter "Bruce Lee" Dinsdale, 26 (not asian, but he thought he was)
    7: Zhang Jun, 30
    6: Woo Bum-Kon, 58
    5: Javed Iqbal, 100
    4: Koose Muniswamy Veerappan, 120
    3: Indonesian Witch Hunters, 150
    2: Hu Wanlin, 200
and of course, number one is:
    1: Pol Pot, 1,500,000.
Strangely, the lower numbers actually seem to have been more creative/weird/f*cked up in their deeds. And the little b*stard who made "otaku" into a bad word is in there as well, at #22. And...he had problems.

Whee. I really hope I get time off for Anime Expo, this'll suck most hugely if I don't get to go.

< ^_^ > Anytime.

NnM, hee! ^_^ I just put it up cause I wanted the skin, and well, since Ragabash is working on a Chii skin (Chii! < ^_^ >) I figure I'll...ask for an Ein skin. ^_^ Hmm. So if it used to be prune juice, would that make Dr. Pepper the choice for young Klingons everywhere? And you thought those foreheads were natural!

slurp. And *lmao* well geez it wasn't THAT bad, just reasonable. And what is it you both want!? You keep pointing back and forth to the same blog! < @_@ >

Ragabash, make it a blog layout or something. Not mine. :p

After reading the article on Tsutomu Miyazaki (the infamous Number 22), the only comment from cubeneighbor Jeff: "He ate them. At least he put them to good use." I work with a bunch of sick, sick people.

3.28.2K1 - 9.23

Grr. I smell like really long-chain chemical polymers, but I think it might be finally working, with 2 hours left to go. Thank god for quick-dry paint.

Katherine: JET is! (and you thought Crabbe/Malfoy/Goyle was bad)

Carrots au polynase resin. Mmm.

What's up with the Intel logos?

VAN I NEED YOUR ADDRESS!!!!!! Or else I'm sending it to Jey.

3.27.2K1 - 23.04

Alan, very true. I'll excerpt an article (tomorrow) that refers to the rash of highly publicized teen suicides back in the 70s, that died out when the media stopped reporting. Not that it went AWAY completely, but the numbers dropped way back down.

Put something in the news, people will do it too. People are copycats.

4 hits in an hour? Geez, Ragabash. You are bored. And you missed my huge-@$$ post by just a minute or two!

I wonder if the people downstairs are going to start shooting at each other, there's a couple guys screaming at each other. My first firefight! *cuddles shotguns, psychedelic shoujo background*

Hmm. My own bite me link. Guess we all need one.

3.27.2K1 - 23.00

Bless you, Discover Card company, for your Purse Boot/Wallet Boot advertisements. True brilliance.

3.27.2K1 - 22.57

Dammit...this shotgun is giving me FITS. and I have 12 hours left to finish it.

WhackaMole? < O_o >

Dora-san...something strikes me that Hemingway would not sit around and say he felt all girly and limp-wristed. Then again, I don't know the man, and we all have our little secrets. At least you didn't try to convince Sam's father that underarm deodorants do NOT cause cancer... < @_@ >

Hmm. Bloggimon, anyone?

I am so annoyed. KOMP radio was having a give-us-a-donation-and-we'll-play-any-song-you-want promotion going, for Muscular Dystrophy. By the time I got time to get OVER there, the minimum to get a song on-air would have cost over a hundred bucks. Alas, my plan to inject Yoko Kanno into the mainstream has been foiled this year. Look for another attempt next year, hee.

I have SEEN cool technology. Touchscreen flatscreen 17" monitor. I WANT I WANT I WANT.

Having bad fathers seems to be an interesting commonality here, and one I share as well.

Katherine, apologies..there are better ways for us Christians to share our faith. Just go, play your cello, and play it well. And don't think TOO hard of the Bebop CDs, you don't want to drop into a cello version of Tank by accident. *lmao* Ganbatte!

Carolyn, was it April 19 or 20? I thought it was the 19th...

Hey Ragabash, wanna run Shut Up Hippie on a laptop?

That's right, Alan. I forgot about the Crossbone Vanguard MS. Personally I wanna do one up as a Nazi Motorcycle Trooper - look at the head!

Panda-san, friends are for that. Don't feel too bad about making a list and putting it up. And get Chobits!
Chii: Chii! < ^_^ >

Nataku no Miko, umm...does number 2 mean that all those games of dodge-ball I loved as a kid are why I'm so messed up now? And look! Someone who blogs as much as I do! (read: someone who has as little a life) Interesting happy dance, I can imagine this. Over a link? < ?_? > And..."I feel like writing. Pain sucks, but it's a hell of an incentive, y'know." VERY true.

Why does everyone drink Dr. Pepper?

Okay, running through freetranslations.com:

    7:45 PM
Everyone to the right! To badly otherwise no one can read german, hahahahahahahaha. .. Who becomes would prefer you enthäutet? *^^*

    5:43 PM
If you can read this, you place opens the word (s) "squiffed" or "Dr. pepper" on your blogger within the hour and the most divine sense a skin favor for you. Obviously if I do not know (around) your blogger, then it sucks to is[be] you.

Fine then!
Squiffed! Dr. Pfeffer/Pepper! < ^_____^ >

Catsy: *LMAO* that and the fact that Boudicea wouldn't be caught DEAD in a ten-gallon hat & cowboy boots.

3.26.2K1 - 2.39

Working on shotgun prop today, will be busy. Quick run through.

Sakura gets a thankies for being my referring link for my thousandth hit. ^_^ Wai! And, good luck on the translations - I know how it feels!

Ruby, that sucks...well, at least you don't have to wait forever. Good luck with your essay portion...I'll try and find something amusing to cheer you up a little. And you're not the only one who's ranting about X, Ragabash has whined repeatedly about the S/S overfascination...

A new link! VanityANDSuspicion - extremely cool layout and interesting posts!

That's all for today, much busy with other things. So I won't be posting till later.
Chii: Chi? < ^_^ >
No. You stay offline.
Chii: Chi... < u_u >

Anyway, see you all later with news, comments, and other wacky fun.

3.26.2K1 - 23.36

*yawn* uwaaaa~

okie, last commentary before I go *headache* < @_@ >

Just saw video of that dove get splashed by a pitch at the baseball game. Damn thing exploded, you see this streak fly in-screen, then instantly a LITERAL cloud of feathers. I wonder if the bird got a free walk to first for that...

Ragabash, I saw that post about Kennedy this morning, but Chii wouldn't let me comment on it. Um.

is it just me, or due to the 30 second adjustment made to the two-channel tape, that someone was calling for ambulances BEFORE the shots were fired? Or am I misreading this in braindeadedness?

Kennedy was NOT killed by Oswald. That's been proven. Who? I dunno. Ask the Brits, they know.

And how about an Appleseed/You're Under Arrest layout for the next anime-girls-with-guns thing? Just a thought, I'm off to crash.

Oh yeah sue me, minna-san. Tune in for more fun tomorrow!

< ˜o˜ > zzzz.

Hee. Insanity is fun. Hopefully you enjoyed my substitute blogger today.

Chobits skin? Go for it! And, no Heero. < -_- > We'll discuss other ideas in a couple weeks.

Ganbatte, Dora-chan! < ^_^ >

Sakura: Chi! And I wanna see Argent Soma-a-a-a-a! < ;_; >

Alan: It's...different.

Chii... < @_@ > and I thought SAKURA got genki. Well, miko-san, go dig through the other Reloads - you might get a couple laughs. And, not knowing Gen, I'll ask - what is the Happy Dance?

I sometimes wonder if schizophrenia runs among bloggers. Then I look at my posts today and wonder who's more messed up.

Oh yeah - the guns specified under the Weaponry are my currently-owned bundles of fun. I could convert the G3 into a sniper rig, but then I'd need a good carbine. Perhaps an M4gery?

I need a new poll. What to poll...

Ugh...up before 7am this morning...and it's my day off. *stumbles around looking for a gun*

TRB, words of caution - the 10mm is actually too powerful a round for the 1911 frames, they found that out the hard way with the Delta Elites. Severe frame cracking around 3000-4000 rounds, the only gun that's gone any seriously long time with 10mm ammo is the Glock. That's why the FBI's love affair ended and they made a .40 S&W out of it, and the .40 IS a great round. And about your shooting tests, Hydrashoks aren't meant to penetrate. Just hit a huge wound area, and let the post in the center pull a serious fluid physics job on the target. That's why there was huge ceramic damage and a big dent but no penetration. And the big thing about the .357 was penetration - made a fine hunting cartridge. I dun care, I like .40 because it's small enough to get 17 rounds in my Para, but still has excellent stopping ability.

Katherine: They're cute, kinda, but...they look like Barbie & Ken dolls with different heads. And save yourself! Run screaming from the plush Keros! One of my other coworkers has one at her desk. We've made a deal that she doesn't bring it near me or make it talk, and I don't take it out to the parking lot and shoot it.

Carolyn, computers run on smoke. If you let it leak out, they stop working. Oh, and *flump*!
